Mohammad Selim Uddin has been elected as an Ameer of Jamaat Dhaka City North unit for the session of 2025-2026. Members of Jamaat Dhaka City North unit cast their votes in the annual members’ conference, which was held at Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center on October 13. Jamaat Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman today announced the result of votes at a central working committee meeting.
10 thousand voters cast their votes directly for Dhaka city north unit’s Ameer election for the session of 2025-26.
Central executive council member Muhammad Abdur Rab was the chief election commissioner. Jamaat Dhaka city south unit’s Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul was his assistant.
Jamaat practised democracy in their party. According to Jamaat’s constitution, there is no candidate for leadership election.
Mohammad Selim Uddin served as the central president of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir for the session of 2004-2025. He was the deputy executive of Diganta Television. He served as the Ameer of Ramna thana for the session of 2008-2011. Later, he served as the assistant secretary general of undivided Dhaka for the session of 2012-2016. He has been serving as the Ameer of Jamaat Dhaka City North unit since 2017. Selim Uddin is one of the important member of central executive council, the highest decision making body of Jamaat.
